I knew this Brazilian JazzFunk workout sounded familiar! When I bought the mp3 in 2010, I didn’t realize it had been sitting on my shelf since 1999 inside the “Mundial Muzique” 3xLP on Guidance. I just had a facepalm moment while looking it up on Discogs.

Great NuSoul tune from Ben Grayson’s album, “Let The Love”, released on Raw Fusion in 2008. Available where fine music is sold and streamed.

While everybody’s still drooling over Todd Terje’s “Inspector Norse” from his latest EP, I’m gonna take you back to 2005 for one of his earlier releases with a little more emotion. “Glittertind” is on the B-Side of the first release on Prins Thomas’ Full Pupp label.

My favorite track from Pitchben’s 2-month-old debut album “Pitchslap” on Compost. It’s oozing with D-Train influence.

I heard this for the first time while digging through the bins at the now defunct Rhythm & Culture record store in DC 10 years or so ago. I had not been aware of the original “Ghost Mix” until I heard Doug Smith (of 95 North fame) play both mixes back to back. I then...

Here’s some Afrobeat to start off the new year in style. The original vinyl LP and single don’t come cheap, and neither is the compilation that features “Kilimandjaro My Home”, along with many other great Afro Rhythms. That’s where online music stores and services come in.
