A superb vocal interpretation of John Coltrane’s “ Equinox.” Due to certain aspects of the music business, this was only available as a white label promo. Only 500 numbered copies were pressed in July 2007. I’m lucky to own one of them.

Born in Minnesota, now living in Brooklyn, José James is a half-Panamanian, half-Irish jazz vocalist who will remind you of Gil Scott-Heron and Terry Callier. His debut album The Dreamer was released on Gilles Peterson’s record label: Brownswood Recordings.
