Original Productions

Nicolicious feat. Karla Brown "Goin' On" (Da Monster Dub)

This was my very first release as Nicolicious with Nicolas "Kolai" Laget. Back in the late 90s, I used to open for 95 North (Doug Smith and Rich Payton) at club Red in D.C. At the end of the night, I would share tunes we were working on with Doug and Rich, and they would give us feedback.

This Dub of "Goin' On" was one of those tunes, and they really liked it. They had recently started their own record label, 95 North Records, and they wanted "Goin' On" to be their second release. But first, they wanted us to make a vocal version to increase sales. Nicolas wrote the lyrics and melody, and 95 North recommended Karla Brown to sing it.

Nicolicious "Mute This!"

This was a test pressing on Vinylicious Recordings that never got a full release. Only a handful of copies were handed out during the Winter Music Conference in 2000. Apparently, it's a sought-after record now!

I can't find my digital copy of it, but I have the vinyl, so when I get around to digitizing it, I'll upload it here.

Remixes

95 North feat. Heather Rose "Unbelievable" (dlm's Unbelievably Raw Mix)

Remix produced by Moncef Belyamani. This remix was officially released in June 2001 on the Vinylicious Epiology Vol. 1. The version on this site is the full mix. The version on the 12" was cut a little short by mistake. "dlm" stands for "da licious mOnster", which was my old DJ name.

Jeremy Underground included my remix in his compilation "90's House & Garage Vol.3" compilation that was released on Z Records in 2024. The version on the compilation is Jeremy's edit, where he extended the intro beats to make it more DJ friendly, but also removed the section at the end with the cut up vocals.

Ce Ce Peniston "Finally" (Moncef's Remix)

This is mainly a mashup, with additional guitar overdubs by David Cosby. Do you recognize the track underneath the a cappella? (2000)

Adam Cruz (aka The Almagest) "Maya's Dance" (Moncef's Dance)

Remix produced by Moncef Belyamani. All keyboards and drum programming by Moncef Belyamani. (2003)

Sade "Slave Song" (Casarica remix)

Mashups

Grant Nelson vs. Sister Pearl "Brazilian Knights Bang The Drum" (Moncef's Mashed Up Edit)

A fun mashup I did in 2010. I sent it to Grant Nelson, and he ended up playing it on his Housecall radio show!

Nuyorican Soul vs. The Deep "You Can Do The Tiger" (1997)

Alix Alvarez vs. Sharon Pass "The Word Is Rising" (2002)

First Choice vs. Club Session "The Player Doesn't Move" (2000)

Sounds Of Blackness vs. Gigolo Supreme "The Pressures Of A Gigolo"

Mashup by Moncef Belyamani, with some contributions by Adam Cruz. (2000)

Edits

Lil' Louis & The Party "Clap Your Hands" (Monfresh Edit)

My edit of this classic House track combines the "Tambourine Mix" and "Man Of Soul Mix" (co-produced by Frankie Feliciano) of "Clap Your Hands" by Lil' Louis & The Party. Both mixes contain a break with just claps, providing a perfect splicing point.

For more details about how this edit came about, check out my post about it.

Chicago's "Street Player" (Moncef's DJ-Friendly Edit)

The original came out on their "Chicago 13" album in 1979. I only used the end of the song and added quantized intro and outro beats. (2000)

Maydie Myles "Keep On Luvin" (Moncef's Edit)

The original came out on K4B Records in 1995. My edit uses sections of the "Kingsley Deep Punch Mix" and "Kingsley Deep Punch Dub". (2006)

Deee-Lite "Bittersweet Loving" (Moncef's "Just A Little Longer" Edit)

The original was co-produced by Masters At Work and came out on Deee-Lite's "Dewdrops In The Garden" album in 1994. The album version is less than 4 minutes long, and to my knowledge, there is no official 12" version, so I made it a little longer by extending a few key sections. (2003)

De La Soul vs. The Rebirth "Evil Saturdays"

My mashup/edit using the intro from the "Disco Fever Mix" of De La Soul's "A Roller Skating Jam Named 'Saturdays'" and most of The Rebirth's "Evil Vibrations". (2005)

Danny Tenaglia "Ohno" (Moncef's Edit)

The original came out on Twisted America in 1996. I used bits and pieces from "Danny's Twisted Realness Mix" and "The Real Twisted Bonus Beats" to create this edit. (July 2006)
