Whenever Masters At Work get together with George Benson, magic happens. All of their collaborations are among my all-time favorite records. Louie Vega and Kenny "Dope" Gonzales produced these first two tracks on George Benson's "Absolute Benson" album.

"The Ghetto" is a remake of Donny Hathaway's 1970 classic, and both tracks feature an all-star line-up of backing vocalists: India, Lisa Fischer, Claudia Acuña, and Roy Ayers (on "The Ghetto" only); and Joe Sample on the keys.

There is also a longer "MAW Mix" of "El Barrio," which you can listen to in my " Spring Fever 2000" mix.
