Milt Jackson - Flying Saucer

Written by James Moody in 1965, this swinging tune was originally recorded during a live performance by Milt Jackson at the Museum of Modern Art, along with Ron Carter on bass, Cedar Walton on piano, Candy Finch on drums, and James Moody on reeds.

In 1999, it was remade by United Future Organization in a more uptempo bossa nova style, featuring Dee Dee Bridgewater on vocals. Gilles Peterson, who was then still involved with the Talkin' Loud label, made the impeccable decision to hand over the remix duties to Kings of Tomorrow. The double pack sold out faster than a Groupon deal for cupcakes.
